Apparently, they're also on the cheeky side these days like
the physicists and meteorologists:
In an effort to save those I care about from biblical-length emails, and not turn into the crazy lady who talks to her cats, I've put my inner rants and ponderings into a blog in a narcissistic need to fill the cosmic void.
the physicists and meteorologists:
So the health and safety officer comes into our area to inspect it. The conversation goes something like this:
H&SO: Hi, I’m the Health and Safety Officer doing an inspection of your area for any issues. Do you have any concerns?
L: Nope
H&SO: Okay, most office spaces are pretty safe anyways but you know, we’re just checking.
L: Okay.
H&SO: Oh, do you know if you have a first aid kit in this office?
L: No idea. But I don’t know first aid anyways so I’d be calling 4444 and letting a safety officer deal with the blood.
H&SO: (looks on top of cabinet) Oh, it looks like you have one here. And it looks fully stocked.
B (European newbie in adjoining office): I guess it doesn’t matter if we have one because we don’t know it’s there. *insert laughs*
L: Wait, is that that box on top of the cabinet? So really, we could drop it on our heads if we're getting it down anyways?
H&SO: Ugh, yeah, actually. It should probably be mounted on the wall for easier and safer access.
*insert peels of laughter from L, B and G (other office mate) as H&SO leaves vicinity*
Yes, that's right, AA is attempting to capitalize on our much beloved, teen years worn, Hypercolour Tshirts. mar says:
How much do I owe you?
L says:
for?
mar says:
writing my e-mail messages?
L says:
at my hourly rate, I think that's about a $3 email
which is scary when you think about it
considering the crap I do sometimes when the uni pays me so much
mar says:
but think of all those union dues you have to pay
L says:
so really...
$3 to the client is charged (that's you)
$0.12 to the union
$0.95 to the government for taxes
$0.20 to pension plan
$0.03 to parking
$0.14 to benefits
take home pay?
$1.56
pathetic
